THAT STORE WAS CLOSE: Heart Attack Driver Flattens Shopper
This is the moment a terrified customer is flattened as an out-of-control driver crashes through a shop window after suffering a heart attack.
The dramatic CCTV footage from a shop in Campo Grande in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was filmed on 4th July.
A shopper – named in local media as Wanderson Nascimento, 48 – was returning a rented dress when he apparently heard the car approaching, as seen in the video.
As he looks behind him in horror, the car accelerates towards him.
At the last second, he leaps to his left and the car carries on, crashing through the shop’s double glass doors.
Nascimento is sent sprawling in the debris but is on his feet again in a few seconds trying to help the car driver.
Livia Grego, spokesperson for the Felicidade Noivas e Festas store, said: “It all happened very quickly. Wanderson looked around and managed to step away, escaping a full blow.
“He only had light scratches and immediately went to help the man, who was around 50 years old.”
The driver reportedly caused damage worth BRL 13,000 (GBP 2,002) and his family has agreed to pay for repairs.
The driver was treated by doctors at a clinic in front of the store.
Local media said his wife came to the shop the next day to explain that he suffered a heart attack behind the wheel.
