Moment Lightning Bolt Moves Along Ground Like Laser And Zaps Mans Car To A Stop
This is the moment a bolt of lightning moves along the ground like a laser until it hits a motorist’s car on the motorway and stops the engine.
The incident was filmed on the G92 Hangzhou Bay Ring Expressway near the city of Ningbo in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang on 4th July.
Mr Zhang was driving along the motorway when a bolt of lightning hit his car and reportedly stopped the engine.
The driver said he had to coast to the side of the motorway and found that his car would not restart. He added that the lightning bolt had damaged his wing mirror.
Mr Zhang said he had to call the police afterwards, but was unharmed in the incident.
The traffic police said it was the first time they had seen a vehicle directly hit by lightning in the over 10 years.
In the dash-cam footage, Mr Zhang drives behind a lorry and several other vehicles on the motorway during a rainstorm.
A bolt of lightning apparently strikes the lorry in front before continuing along the ground like a laser until it hits the front and side of his car.
