A German man has confessed to murdering his beautiful ex-girlfriend because she broke up with him.
Dennis Holstein, 26, from the Greven-Reckenfeld area in the city of Munster, in western Germany’s state of North Rhine-Westphalia, allegedly killed Pia Stelzer, 25, and then hid her corpse in a bush in the Saerbeck municipality, as she was coming home from a fair on Saturday, 27th August, 2022.
The 25-year-old geriatric nurse was reported missing before her lifeless body was found a few days later at around 4am on Tuesday morning, 30th August, 2022.
The two lived in the same building in the Greven-Reckenfeld area, where Holstein had moved from the town of Bramsche in Lower Saxony about four years ago, and where the 25-year-old woman bought her first apartment in 2021, according to local media.
Pia had reportedly moved into the place with her ex-boyfriend, but they broke up after repeated arguments.
One of their neighbours said: “In the beginning they were together a lot and always held hands. But at some point Pia was mostly back in her own apartment. After a few weeks she broke up again.”
They were reportedly only dating for a month before she ditched him again.
The breakup reportedly left Holstein, who was still Pia’s neighbour, devastated.
However, the two were still in touch, as he reportedly got a voice message from her on the evening before her disappearance where she said “she’d be coming back from the fair in a minute on the train.”
The neighbour said: “Dennis then absolutely wanted to pick her up, he left with the car.”
That is when the young woman went missing, according to local media.
During police interrogations, Holstein reportedly admitted to the murder and led the officers to the place where he had disposed of Pia’s body.
He had reportedly hidden the 25-year-old woman’s dead corpse in a bush in Greven’s neighbouring town of Saerbeck on Tuesday, 30th August, 2022.
The autopsy revealed strangulation marks and cuts on the victim’s neck.
Holstein was arrested for manslaughter on the request of the Munster Public Prosecutor and will be awaiting his trial date.
