Plucky Supermarket Worker Drags Jacket Off Serial Shoplifter

This is the moment a serial shoplifter is nabbed by a plucky supermarket worker, who makes him give up his nice jacket and flee the store.

Russian cops have arrested three middle-aged men for stealing from local shops and supermarkets dozens of times each before selling the goods on the street.

The three men, names not reported, are suspected of carrying out over 50 robberies in the city of Kaliningrad in the Russian region of Kaliningrad Oblast between October 2021 and January 2022.

Combined, the suspected thieves stole over RUB 200,000 (GBP 1,930) in shop goods.

One suspect, aged 41, is accused of shoplifting in the area on at least 22 occasions, seizing an estimated loot of RUB 85,000 (GBP 820).

Another suspect, aged 40, is believed to have shoplifted 18 times in that time period, pocketing items worth around RUB 87,000 (GBP 840).

The third suspect, 40, seen in the CCTV footage, is accused of shoplifting 12 times and stealing goods worth RUB 32,000 (GBP 309).

In the video, the suspect is seen being rumbled by a store worker who grabs his jacket and forces him to flee without it.

Together with the security service of an unnamed supermarket chain, the police identified three suspects for carrying out 52 offences in Kaliningrad and arrested them.

The products they allegedly stole included chocolates, cheese, sausages, butter, razors, shampoos and branded booze.

They then reportedly sold the stolen goods on the streets.

Investigations into the three suspects are ongoing.
