ROAD RAGE: Man Drags Woman Into Taxi During Breakup Dispute

This is the moment a terrified woman is dragged kicking and screaming into a taxi in China by a man with people standing around filming and doing nothing to help her.

The video was reportedly shot in Chongqing which is a municipality in south-east China that together with Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin is one of four similar regions under the direct control of the central government of China.

It is the size of Austria making it the largest city in the world and the shocking video shows the taxi driver waiting patiently in the middle of the road, with the door open as the man tries to drag the terrified woman inside.

Several times she manages to wriggle free and press her body to the ground as traffic moves around in the background and some people even film from the road without anybody doing anything.

When local reporters contacted the taxi company for comment, they claimed it was all okay because the couple knew each other and in any case, the police had been in touch with them to mediate the situation.

However, the incident was nevertheless strongly criticised on social media with people demanding to know how the taxi company knew they were in a relationship, why this justified the violence, and why nobody did anything to stop the man’s violence from forcing the woman to do something she was clearly against.

The police have not commented on the matter or on whether they are investigating.
