This footage shows how a dad with lightning-fast reflexes saved his one-year-old from being hit by a speeding pickup truck as it smashed into his motorcycle.

Astonishing CCTV footage shows the dad – not named in local media – pushing his son as he perches on petrol tank of the bike.

But as he pauses to cross the road, the dad suddenly grabs the tot and whisks him away.

A split second later, a pickup truck runs straight into the motorbike at high speed.

The impact was so great that the mangled bike was rammed some 30 feet down the road in Vila Taboca, Sao Felix do Xingu municipality, Para state, Brazil, on 30th July.

The footage ends with the dad throwing down his cap in shock and then stomping off to confront the truck driver.

Local media reported that the owner of the pickup truck later agreed to compensate the dad for the damage caused to his bike.

As such, the incident was not reported to the police.
