This is the moment a Chinese student finds a bird’s nest on his shorts after hanging them to dry for over two weeks.

The student, name not disclosed, from the city of Hengyang in the south-eastern Chinese province of Hunan, washed his shorts and left them to dry on the balcony on 1st May.

However, he did not bring the pair of shorts back inside due to a period of rain and ended up forgetting about them, leaving them hanging on the balcony.

When he returned to his dorm on 17th May, his roommate told him about the bird’s nest.

The roommate uttered the bizarre sentence: “You have a bird’s nest in your shorts!”

The student admitted he was confused at first and went out to the balcony to see what his roommate was on about.

He said he was stunned when he saw the scene. In just over two weeks, a bird’s nest had been built on top of his shorts.

The student decided to give up his shorts and leave them for the birds due to the hard work they put in building it, admitting that he wanted to see if they would come back to lay eggs.

The footage was widely shared on the Chinese social network Douyin where netizens dubbed the student ‘Bird’s Nest Boy’.
