Texas Dad, 17, Arrested For Killing Baby Son After Throwing Him Into Spinning Ceiling Fan
A 17-year-old father has been arrested for killing his baby son by throwing him into a spinning ceiling fan because he was angry the teen mum kept him instead of having an abortion.
Teenager Caleb Blake Brown, who fathered a son with his 17-year-old girlfriend, name not disclosed, in July, has been arrested for the baby’s murder, according to a statement by the police in the city of Carrollton in Denton County in the US state of Texas on 28th September.
Brown had been arrested by the police earlier that morning before the statement was released.
The suspect and his partner are said to have taken their son, who was just over three weeks old, to the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano in the city of Plano on 9th August after the mum noticed the infant was pale with severe bruising around his abdomen.
The baby, named Emerson Ziesmer, was then transferred to the Children’s Medical Center Dallas where doctors pronounced him dead at 24 days of age.
Following an autopsy, it was concluded that the baby suffered a lacerated liver and several displaced ribs.
Investigators said they later learned that the suspect, worried about child support payments, was angry at his teenage girlfriend for keeping their baby son instead of having an abortion.
The probable cause affidavit on the suspect’s arrest warrant said that he admitted to being alone with the baby for a brief moment on the afternoon of 9th August when he squeezed the tot and threw him in the air numerous times, eventually tossing him into a ceiling fan.
The police said the teen suspect is being held at Denton County Jail with a bond set at USD 2 million.
