Drunk Woman Assaults Two Police Officers Investigating A Single Vehicle Crash

Two officers from the Sherman Police Department who were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash were assaulted while conducting an investigation on an intoxicated driver.

The incident involving a likely drunk motorist happened on 18th of August 2021, Sherman, Texas.

According to the Sherman Police Department: “Sherman Officers were sent to southbound US Highway 75 at Washington Street on 18th of August 2021 in connection to a single-vehicle collision,”

The police said that “Officers suspected the driver of being inebriated when they arrived. When authorities requested the suspect, subsequently identified as Ms Danica Williams, to vacate her vehicle, she refused, forcing officers to forcibly take her from the vehicle and place her in handcuffs. Officers attempted to place her in the backseat of a patrol vehicle, but she refused, requiring officers to physically force her there.”

Ms Williams reportedly kicked the officer in the face while wearing 6-inch heels in the process. The officer’s face was lacerated as a result of the movement.

According to the police, “officers moved her to a separate patrol car, and she refused once again.” “Williams got a hand out of her shackles and punched another officer in the face this time. Officers were eventually able to persuade her to sit up and securely take her to the Sherman Police Department.”

Williams was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a public worker, assault on a police officer, driving while drunk, two counts of obstruction or retaliation, and refusing arrest, search, or transport to Grayson County Jail.
