Moment Carjacker Crashes Into Vehicle During Car Chase With Aussie Cops

This is the moment a suspected carjacker is arrested after driving a stolen car down a cul-de-sac during a chase with the cops and ramming another vehicle.

The car chase took place in Beckenham near Perth in the Australian state of Western Australia on 15th August.

The Western Australia Police Force (WAPF) said in a statement: “Around 8pm, Sunday 15 August 2021, police on patrol in Beckenham sighted a stolen Hyundai Tucson and attempted to stop it.

“It will be alleged the driver failed to stop and accelerated away on William Street. A police helicopter was deployed to the scene and took over the monitoring of the stolen vehicle from the air.”

The police said the suspect drove in a “reckless and dangerous” manner, causing a threat to other road users.

The WAPF added that the suspect entered a car park at the end of a cul-de-sac where he tried to turn around, but crashed into a white Hyundai Elantra, causing damage to both vehicles.

Police officers then moved in and arrested the driver.

The 33-year-old man, who comes from the suburb of High Wycombe in Perth, has been charged with failing to stop, reckless driving (to evade the police), stealing a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, assault with intent to prevent arrest, giving false details to the police, and criminal damage.

The police said: “He was refused bail and appeared in the Midland Magistrates Court on Monday 16 August 2021.”
