This is the moment a bus driver and 12 passengers are thrown from their seats as belongings rain down on them from the overhead storage as a lorry rear-ends the bus.

The incident was filmed by the bus’ interior cameras in the city of Qujing in the southern Chinese province of Yunnan.

According to the news site Weibo, a lorry rear-ended the stationary bus with force, causing the driver and 12 passengers to be thrown from their seats.

Reports said one passenger suffered a hip injury and the others only sustained minor scrapes in the incident.

In the CCTV footage, the female bus driver is seen looking behind her as she apparently prepares to set off.

However, she is thrown from her seat with force and is stopped from falling to the ground by her seatbelt.

In the other angle, the passengers are seen being thrown forwards before a second impact forces some of them from their seats.

While personal belongings rain down on them from the overhead storage, the passengers scream in terror.

The bus then comes to a stop and the startled passengers check on each other and return to their seats as the video ends.
