Northern Lights Dazzling Over Alaskan Lake

This is the stunning time-lapse footage of the northern lights dazzling in the night sky over Alaska.

The northern lights (aurora borealis) were filmed at Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve in the south of Alaska.

The footage was shared on social media by the Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve on 16th March.

A national park spokesperson accompanied the clip with the message: “River of light! The aurora borealis flooded our sky with colour this weekend, thanks to clear weather on the night of 12th March.

“Strong winds painted the water of Bartlett Cove and shook our tall trees, while the northern lights danced in the starry sky above.

“Time-lapse video shows the aurora dancing in the sky above Bartlett Cove. Strong winds blur trees and draw waves across the water’s surface.”

In the footage, the dazzling green lights of the aurora are seen in the night sky over an idyllic Alaskan lake.

Facebook user ‘Luanne Wulf’ commented: “Oh yes, the northern lights in Montana in the summer are breathtaking, in their colours. I spent two summers in north east Montana, 80 miles south of the Canadian border!”

Netizen ‘Marie Zimmerman’ said: “Thank you for sharing.”

‘Dakota Jones’ simply wrote: “Bucket list!”
