LIFE SAVER: Cool-Headed Waiter Saves Choking Diner
This is the moment a quick-thinking waiter saves a diner from choking as he performs the Heimlich manoeuvre.
The footage shows the elderly man apparently unable to breathe after a piece of food became stuck in his throat.
He gestures to a waiter who can then be seen positioning himself behind him and putting his arms around his waist before performing the Heimlich manoeuvre.
After a few seconds, the food apparently becomes dislodged and the elderly man can be seen reaching into his mouth and removing it, security footage from the restaurant shows.
The incident took place in the district of Altindag, in the Turkish capital city of Ankara.
It is currently unclear what the OAP was eating. Neither he nor the waiter have been named.
Abdominal thrusts, also known as the Heimlich manoeuvre, is a procedure used in first aid to stop someone from choking on foreign objects. It is named after Henry Heimlich, an American doctor and researcher.
