Italian Firefighters Hoist A Deer Stuck In A Ditch To Safety

Italian firefighters rescue a deer that had fallen in a fenced ditch and was unable to get out. The inicident tok place at the Abruzzo-Molise-Lazio Park in the Italian province of Isemia. A park authority requested the assistance of firefighters after the animal was located stuck in a ditch and unable to get out on its own. Besides the Isernia firefighters, the park staff, the forest police and the veterinary staff were on location to assist in the rescue. Once the animal was sedated, two firefighters tied a rope to its legs. The animal was then hoisted from the ditch with the help of a mobile crane. Local media report that after it was rescued, the deer was transported to a safe area.
