A delivery driver and his friend on an electric scooter got a shock when a basketball suddenly rolled in front of them sending their vehicle bouncing into the air before crashing.

The video was shot on a street in the Chinese city of Taizhou in Zhejiang Province when the young boy named Xiao Wang was dribbling the ball down the road.

As he bounced it up and down on the yellow no parking line, he struck the curb by accident, sending the ball shooting across the road at a right angle instead of back up into his hand.

It was then struck a second later by the electric scooter ridden by a delivery driver, surnamed Diao, who was just finishing his shift andagreed to let his friend with the surname Zhao ride the bike.

The front wheel of the electric scooter bounced into the air and seconds later it toppled onto its side, sending the two people and the bike skidding down the road just outside the No. 1 Middle School of Zhucheng East Road, Yuhuan.

The boy then walks towards them apologetically as the driver looks amazed at what just happened and checks himself for injuries.

The pillion passenger meanwhile continues sitting on the floor staring at the bike with no idea of what just happened and later had to be taken to hospital by ambulance for unspecified injuries.

The police are investigating but have yet to comment on the matter.
