Girl Gets Huge Bald Patch On Scalp Week After Parents Buy Infected Cat

This is the moment a disgruntled Chinese girl sports a huge bald patch on her head after the family bought a cat a week before and she was reportedly infected with scalp ringworm.

The family, from the city of Shenzhen in the south-eastern Chinese province of Guangdong, bough a cat for the young girl on 1st May.

However, the youngster started losing her hair just a week later.

According to the news site Toutiao, the cat infected the girl with tinea capitis, a fungal infection of the scalp also known as scalp ringworm. Symptoms include hair loss, redness, itchiness, and dry scaly areas.

The girl’s parents took her to a hair salon to shave the affected area so they could treat the infection with medicine after seeking advice from their doctor.

The parents added that the girl may need to keep shaving the patch until the infection goes away.
