Iceland may start jailing saucy OnlyFans models after the police launched an investigation into whether the content subscription service goes against the country’s pornography laws.

The police have already started conducting interviews with several Icelandic models who sell erotic images on the British content subscription site OnlyFans.

The content has sparked debate in Iceland regarding pornography laws as well as other topics such as sexual autonomy, prostitution, and freedom of speech.

Current laws state that anyone responsible for porn appearing in print form may face a fine or up to six months in prison. The same rules apply for anyone importing or producing adult-content films or publications.

However, the country’s General Penal Code does not clearly define what constitutes ‘pornographic’ content and the matter was never cleared up in the few court cases where an attempt was made to clarify the term.

OnlyFans content providers post photos and video clips, mostly sexual, for their followers who pay a monthly subscription fee.

Followers can also pay directly for individual content or collect tips on the website’s payment and chat platform.

Icelandic contributors are reportedly unhappy at having their online activities investigated and one model pointed out that OnlyFans features normal content like exercise clips.

One model consulted with a lawyer who advised her that her content on OnlyFans did not break any Icelandic laws.

Content provider Edda Lovisa Bjorgvinsdottir said defiantly: “We are just going to keep creating content.

“We saw on the news that the police are going to arrest us, put us in jail. They don’t even put rapists in jail, are they really going to lock us up?”

Another model, Klara Sif Magnusdottir, 23, recently claimed that she has earned around ISK 15 million (GBP 85,870) since she started on the site in August last year.
