A caged bear was filmed as it attacked an elderly carer trying to feed it and ends up ripping off a chunk of his jacket.

The incident was filmed in the city of Blagoveshchensk in the south-eastern Russian region of Amur Oblast and was reported by local media on 13th April.

According to the news site Vesti, the man tried to feed the bear with bread, but was attacked and had his jacket ripped.

The elderly man managed to escape and then throws the bread into the bear’s cage from a safe distance as he surveys his ruin clothing.

An eyewitness later said: “It grabbed him by the jacket and tore it at the arm.”

The public prosecutor’s office in Amur has confirmed that they are aware of the video and are investigating the matter.

The same bear reportedly injured a girl the got too close to it eight years ago.

In the footage, the man is seen tearing off a hunk of bread to give the caged bear just as it grabs him by the jacket with its huge paw.

The man resists and the bear ends up ripping off material from his jacket before trying to eat it.

The man at the end can be seen throwing the bread he dropped into the bear cage as the animal continues biting into his jacket.
