Moment Lurking Hyena Suddenly Appears From Overgrowth And Attacks Passing OAP
This is the moment a large lurking hyena suddenly appears from the overgrowth and attacks a passing elderly man.
The hyena attack took place in the village of Kharpudi in the district of Jalna in the Indian state of Maharashtra.
According to The Times of India, the hyena was already injured when it attacked an elderly man and a biker, and it was later found dead nearby.
The man and the biker were reportedly injured in the attacks and required medical attention.
The attack on the OAP was filmed by an onlooker. In the footage, the victim is seen walking along the side of the road with a dog and a bucket in his hand.
The large predator, lurking in the overgrowth, suddenly appears behind him and latches onto the man’s arm.
The OAP tries to free his arm before a passerby hits the hyena with a large stick.
After several whacks, the hyena lets go of the man and runs off into a nearby field.
Forest official Jayaramegowda R. told The Indian Express: “One elderly person and a biker have been injured in the attack by a hyena in Kharpudi village.
“Attacks by hyenas are not very common. We have come to know that the hyena was already injured when it attacked the two persons.
“The animal was found dead later. We believe that the irritation caused by the injury may have triggered the attack.
“We have initiated the process to provide compensation to the two injured persons.”
