This is the shocking moment a motorcyclist crashes seconds after running away from the police intercept.

The incident happened in the locality of Mackay Harbour in the Australian state of Queensland on 17th February.

In the video, the 30-year-old motorcyclist can be seen driving by the police interceptor car and in a short distance crashing after seemingly losing control over the motorbike.

Mackay Police said in a statement: “Around 4:30 pm they detected a Honda CBR motorcycle allegedly travelling at 122km/h in a 50km/h speed zone, 72km over the posted speed limit.

“Later that day, police intercepted the motorcycle on Ron Searle Drive.

“It is alleged around 7:50pm as an officer was out of the police vehicle speaking with the rider, the man drove away.

“It is further alleged the rider lost control of the motorbike and crashed a short distance from where he was intercepted.”

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital for treatment. His current condition is not known.

The man has been fined a total of almost AUD 3,000 (1,660 GBP) for exceeding the speed limit in a speed zone by more than 40kph, not having proper control of the vehicle, failing to remain at a place as required and careless driving without due care and attention.
