Train Crashes Into Lorry Trailer Filled With Water Bottles Near Houston

This is the moment a train smashes into a lorry trailer near Houston in the US and sends water bottles flying.

The 18-wheeler trailer was reportedly split in half by the speeding train during the accident in the city of Richmond, within Greater Houston, in the US state of Texas at around 10.30am on Wednesday.

The lorry was transporting cases of bottled water which were left scattered on the tracks and road.

The Richmond Police Department posted a video of an officer showing up at the scene at the moment the train crashed into the trailer.

The police announced that the area would be closed for several hours while a clean-up operation got underway and the police carried out an investigation.

The Richmond Police Department said on Facebook: “Richmond Police are currently working a train vs. 18-wheeler accident at 2nd Street and the railroad tracks in Richmond.

“The 18-wheeler was crossing the tracks at 2nd Street when the train crashed through the trailer. The trailer appears to have been loaded with cases of bottled water.

“There were no injuries reported. Second Street at the railroad tracks will be closed for a few hours while this accident is being cleaned up.”

The police confirmed that the street had reopened a short while later on social media.

The investigation is ongoing.
