Two Women Sent Flying Into Canyon While Using Extreme Swing

This is the shocking moment two young women are sent flying off a cliff while on a swing above a canyon in Dagestan when it suddenly collapsed.

The Sulak Canyon where the accident happened is deeper than the Grand Canyon and described as the deepest canyon in Europe.

The two young Russian women, whose names have not been revealed, nearly died after falling from a so-called Extreme Swing above the Sulak Canyon in Dagestan.

A video showing them falling into the 6000-foot deep canyon has been posted on social media.

At first, the girls are seen swaying, taking off from a cliff just above the canyon. At one point, a crack is heard, and then a broken swing chain is seen. Due to inertia, both girls were thrown into the abyss while they were heard screaming.

According to the footage, the victims were not wearing safety belts during the usage of the attraction, and the Ministry of Tourism in Dagestan said the swing “didn’t meet official safety standards”.

As stated by local authorities, the girls were not seriously injured. The ministry said: “The events captured on video took place about a month ago, but only captured the public attention after it was posted on Instagram. The girls are alive and safe.”

After the incident, the police banned the operation of this attraction and other similar attractions. It is unclear what other measures have been taken in connection with the incident.

An investigation is ongoing into the organisers and the safety standards that were incremented at the time.
