Woman Dressed As Nurse Steals Newborn Baby From Mothers Arms In Mexican Hospital

A newborn baby has been stolen from its mother’s arms by a woman dressed as a nurse in a Mexican hospital.

The incident took place at Hospital Zoquipan in the city of Zapopan in the Mexican state of Jalisco at around 7pm on 25th August.

According to the news site Debate, the mother of the stolen newborn told hospital staff that a nurse in a surgical gown came into her ward and asked to take the baby to the neonatal unit, which she agreed to.

However, when the mother asked to see her baby, staff members said they never asked to take the infant away.

The mother described the woman who allegedly took the baby away, and a full search of the hospital was carried out.

After being unable to locate either the woman or the baby in the building, the local authorities launched a state-wide search.

Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro Ramirez confirmed that a Code Red was activated in the hospital and a search operation is currently underway in the state.

He said on social media: “Someone stole a baby. There is nothing worse than that level of evil. After the Code Red was activated in the hospital, the authorities of different agencies responded to the report, arrived at the scene, and are searching with all the force through the state.”

The search continues.
