Mum Forced Into Slavery And Raped While Abusers Gave Alcohol To Her Young Children For Two Years

A young mum of two was forced into slavery and raped by abusers, who gave alcohol to her young children, for nearly two years before she managed to escape.

The incident took place in Novousmansky District in Voronezh Oblast in the central region of Russia, when the woman, who comes from the Republic of Buryatia in the far-eastern region of Russia, was kept as a slave for nearly two years.

The young woman had travelled from Buryatia to the Russian capital Moscow to find work, and when she was offered a job as a milkmaid on a farm, she readily accepted.

But once she arrived on the farm in Voronezh Oblast, she was reportedly kept as a slave and was even raped by one of the three people holding her captive.

They also took her identification papers, making it nearly impossible for her to leave and return home.

Her alleged rapist has been named only as Fakhredin in Russian media reports, and he is said to have raped her repeatedly, beat her and her children, and plied them with alcohol.

The tearful woman told local media about her ordeal, saying: “He grabbed me and hit me – this is the first boss, and the second boss dragged me out into the street by the hair. We talked, yelled. It was impossible with the children to escape from there.”

She said that she had attempted to escape multiple times, but with two children in tow it proved impossible not to be caught, and she was repeatedly sent back to the farm, where she was reportedly responsible for 50 heads of cattle.

The woman, who has not been named to protect her identity, was eventually rescued by volunteers working for a non-profit called Alternative, after she contacted a friend in desperation and they contacted the organisation.

They arrived with a car one evening and picked her and her children up before driving them away.

She said that one of her children, aged four and two at the time (six and four now), was seriously ill in the car, and they later discovered that the four-year-old child had been given beer.

The volunteers at Alternative are helping her get back on her feet. The non-profit organisation told Newsflash: “We will help her to get her passport reissued.”

After that, she should be able to return home with her children.

Images showing the conditions in which she was forced to live with her children were shared online by the organisation, and this prompted a police investigation of the farm.

The three people operating the farm, who have not been named by investigators, reportedly deny her allegations.

One of the men operating the farm, named in local media reports as Tengiz Broyan, claims that the young woman was not a slave and that she received a salary of RUB 25,000 (GBP 242).

Local residents also reportedly claimed that the woman was seen around town walking freely and using her mobile phone while accompanied by her two children.

But the volunteers at the organisation persuaded the young woman, whose age has not been reported, to write a statement to the police, which she did, although she was at first afraid of doing so out of fear of being found and forced to return to the farm, or even killed.
