This is the moment a Chinese husband proffers cash notes worth GBP 10 notes to his wife every few steps to encourage her to walk after giving birth.

The clip was filmed in the city of Shangqiu in the Chinese province of Henan on 16th May.

The husband, identified as Mr Bi, handed CNY 100 (GBP 10.9) banknotes to his wife to encourage her to walk around the hospital after giving birth and suffering with postnatal ‘baby blues’.

After the video was widely on the Chinese social network Douyin, the husband said they had been together for over three years and share a very good relationship, full of love and gifts for each other.

In the footage, the smiling hubby is seen retreating from his wife while proffering cash to encourage her to take several steps towards him.

While wearing a face mask and appearing weak on her feet, the wife takes the notes while using the wall for support.

To make the gesture fun, Mr Bi mixes things up by offering the cash behind his back and even teasing her with one banknote.

At the end of the video, the young mother is seen taking a rest against the wall after already amassing a sizeable sum for her workout.
