Humanitarian Aid Delivered To Earthquake Affected Haiti Areas By US Coast Guards

The U.S. Coast Guard responds to the impacted areas of the island of Haiti which was hit by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake on 14th of August.

As a part of their Disaster Assistance program, the Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 helicopter conducted medical evacuations for critically injured citizens in the commune of Les Cays in the Sud department of Haiti on 16th of August.

The U.S. military took an active role in the Joint Task Force supporting the Haiti Earthquake Relief conducting several military operations in order to save lives and ease the suffering of the victims.

As of 22nd of August, there have been reported 204 missions conducted, 335 rescue missions and over 88,000lbs of vital aid delivered to the affected areas.

Many of the countries included in the Joint Task Force besides the U.S., such as Argentina, Columbia and the UK have offered their aircraft with medical personnel and supplies to help out people in the affected areas.
