Bioparc Valencia has shared that a littler of nine new naked mole-rat (Heterocephalus glaber) offsprings have been born in the park.

A video of the strange-looking animal was shared by the park along with the wonderful news. The video shows the younglings suckling from their mom in an area designed especially for them in Bioparc zoo parc in the Spanish town of Valencia.

The naked mole-rat (Heterocephalus glaber), commonly known as the sand puppy is considered to be a very unusual mammal that still represents a challenge for fauna researchers. The animal is a burrowing rodent native to parts of East Africa, but behaves like an insect, has the ability to change from cold to warm-blooded and has developed four mobile teeth.

Besides these strange characteristics, this animal has a very long life range provably because it is immune to cancer. Another strange capability that ensures that the naked mole-rat is a long-lived species is that in extreme conditions where there is an absence of oxygen, this animal acts as a plant.
