Two Cops And A Driver Work As A Team To Save An Injured Hawk

Odessa, Florida

Two Motor Unit deputies helped a driver save a wounded hawk. Deputies, Baker and Hajj together with the driver known as Bryon helped a wounded bird predator after it was found by the driver on the roadway in Odessa in the County of Pasco, Florida. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), officers spotted a vehicle pulled over with hazard lights on and stopped to ask the driver if he needed assistance. Bryon said he was on his way to work when he found an injured hawk on the road and stopped to help the bird. With the intervention of the deputies Hajj and Baker, the HCSO Dispatcher contacted the Florida Wildlife Commission and discovered an animal rescue point just three miles away. The three rescuers transported the injured bird to the Owl Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife where the hawk is to be treated free by volunteers.
