The earthquake that left four people dead and at least 107 others injured, while leaving nearly 2 million households without electricity, happened on the Japanese island of Honshu, approximately 60 kilometres from Fukushima, on 16th March.

The footage shows a flat that has been decimated by the earthquake, with much of the belongings, including the furniture, left destroyed and largely unrecognisable.

Aftershocks from the earthquake potentially occurred in Fukushima, Miyagi and Yamagata prefectures, according to Japanese media reports.

The earthquake that affected Fukushima in 2011 was a magnitude 9.0 event that also triggered a tsunami.

Approximately 18,000 people lost their lives in the nuclear disaster.
